Payment Arrangements
|
If you are having difficulty making a payment or cannot pay your bill in full, you may be eligible for a payment arrangement. |
There are two types of payment arrangements available:
Installment Agreements
An installment agreement is created using the entire balance owing and is automatically calculated for repayment over two months. When entering into an installment agreement, you agree to pay your current charges plus a portion of your past due amount. A down payment is automatically calculated and may be required to set up the installment agreement.
If the required payment is not made, the agreement will be broken and additional installment agreements cannot be made for 12 months. Gas service may be disconnected. Please note that if you are seeking payment assistance from a social service agency, an installment agreement may prevent you from qualifying for emergency assistance.
To enter into an installment agreement, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-624-2019.
Payment Extensions
If you need an extra day or two beyond your scheduled shut off date, a payment extension can be requested. This type of arrangement is used to extend your shut off date, by no more than two days, to provide the time needed to pay your past due balance in full and avoid service disconnection.
If you fail to pay the full past due amount, your service may be disconnected any time after the extended payment date.
To request a payment extension, you can enroll in SEMCO ENERGY's "My Access Online" or contact Customer Service at 1-800-624-2019. |
