ENERGY Gas Company is currently
seeking to fill positions for Customer Accounting Supervisor. The
Supervisor of Customer Accounting, under general supervision of
the Customer Accounting Manager, will be responsible for timely
and accurate customer accounting services. This supervisory work
is team-focused. Duties include assistance in the direction of the
work unit, directing assigned customer accounting staff, and providing
on-going process support. Essential
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervises
ongoing customer service functions, by overseeing and participating
in the daily activities of the Customer Accounting area, which
includes accounts receivable, remittance processing, credit &
collections, and customer billing functions and processing of
other customer records, requests, and inquiries.
- Ensures
company internal control procedures and processes are followed
to ensure customer billings, records, requests, inquiries, and
complaints are handled and processed in accordance with company
objectives.
- Coaches
and develops employees.
- Assists
in scheduling, assigning, directing, and evaluating employees
in a medium size work group in maintaining customer accounts.
Coordinates and administers workflow among various unit operations.
- Analyzes
moderately complex accounting problems and procedures and prepares
recommendations and final reports.
- Provides
administrative support to claims and collection service programs.
- Assists
in preparing reports, completing forms and compiling information
on completed work assignments and employee effort. Assists in
analyzing information on work group efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintains
professional and technical knowledge by attending educational
workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing
personal networks.
The ideal candidates will possess knowledge of business practices
and analysis at a level normally acquired through the completion
of a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or other
closely related field. Four years of progressive work experience
in the areas of accounting, business management, or finance. Supervisory
experience preferred.
Must know general customer accounting principles and practices
and be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing to
coordinate with technical, operational, and administrative activities
as well as able to administer policies and procedures including
scheduling, budgetary work, day to day problem solving and report
writing. Must be able to lead an assigned work unit and be able
to provide effective change-management leadership that will effectuate
change to support the region’s business strategy as well
as establish and maintain effective working relationships with
co-workers, contractors, attorneys, other governmental agencies,
and customers. Also must be able to learn new applications.
